How we work

A bit about what we do

Terrace renovations

There’s a certain skill to dealing with old houses and turning them into something functional and beautiful. Let us give your terrace a new lease on life.

New home builds

Whether you’ve engaged an architect and have the plans ready or are starting from scratch, we’re able to guide you through the process towards building a whole new home.

Coastal Hamptons

A lot of our clients are after a Hamptons look’n’feel – indoor/outdoor living, lots of light and the kind of natural textures that set your home apart. If that’s your dream, we’ve got you covered

Eco-friendly design

The cost of living is going up and hiring a builder who really understands sustainability, orientation and energy efficiency can save you a chunk of change well into the future.

If you’re thinking about a renovation or build and have an idea of what you want, that’s great. Get in touch with us sooner rather than later – and ideally before you have plans drawn up. It makes it much easier to explain things and guide you through the process

A bit about what we do

Step 1: We set up a time for an initial consultation

We sit down and have a chat about your dream and the desired outcome. Pinterest boards are welcome! Ideally, we like to do this consultation before you’ve had plans drawn up, as the builder can add things you might not have thought of, or suggest ways to do things differently. (Which helps you avoid post-reno disappointment or regret.)

At this stage we might provide a rough estimate of what the job is likely to cost, but this may change once the plans are drawn up and a formal quote is provided.

Step 2: Plans are finalised and we get council approvals

We’ll work with the draftsperson or architect to get the plans drawn up. There’s a lot of to-ing and fro-ing at this point while decisions are made and things are changed or modified. Final plans will be sent to all trades involved for them to quote, and you’ll be provided with a formal quote and a fixed price contract. We’re very upfront in all costs for material and labour, and what happens if costs rise during the actual job.

The next step is to get council approval. We have lots of contacts with local councils in Sydney and the inner west, and we know private certifiers so we can handle this for you.

Step 3: The building process

Once we have council approval, we start the building process. This usually happens in different stages such as pre-construction, sitework, rough framing, exterior construction, MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing), and finishing. We stay in regular contact with you throughout the process, especially when there’s major progress to report.

Once finished, you’ll be handed the keys and we’ll get out of your way so you can get on with enjoying your new home!
