Putting your home reno in the hands of a builder is nerve-wracking. It’s an exercise in trust – for both sides! And we pride ourselves on our professionalism and personalised approach, right from the start, so you can feel fully informed and an integral part of the process.
We work on everything from knock-down rebuilds to residential renovations, extensions and cosmetic makeovers. And as a company, our skilled team tend to focus on only one or two big jobs at a time, so we can give your build or renovation our full focus.
On a recent building project, I changed the roof design. It was just a small change, but it saved my client $100,000. I’ll always suggest those ideas, because my aim is to create something that you’re happy with, and that I can be proud of, too.

Hi, I’m Matt
I’m the owner of Cedar & Stone and have close to 15 years’ experience in carpentry and building. On every job, I’m completely hands-on, guiding the construction, dealing with trades and project-managing from start to finish.
Cedar & Stone Construction is me on a plate. I love working with natural materials. Earthy textures, raw timber, natural stone – those unique pieces that make your property stand out. Sustainability is big on our list, too; it’s something home-owners are more conscious of, and we’re all about building homes that tick those boxes and are energy-efficient. Better for the planet, better for your hip pocket.
If you work with us, we’ll be clear with you about what things cost and work out what’s doable within your budget. We’re with you every step of the way. We’ll also offer options and a fresh perspective in the planning stages. For example, is there a better way to do something? A more cost-effective way? We’ll put it on the table.

Hi, I'm Lucinda
I’m a co-director at Cedar & Stone (and Matt’s wife, in case you were wondering!) And because a lot of my role involves administration, budgets and bookkeeping, you may be chatting to me about anything from contracts to colour schemes.
The building process is pretty far from what you see on The Block or Selling Houses Australia – and if it’s your first time renovating (or your tenth), it can always be a bit of a learning curve. We keep it real and go above and beyond to answer any questions you have throughout the entire process.
